1.ਮੈਂ 2003 ਤੱਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ।
Answer: – I was there until / till 2003.
2.ਮੈਂ ਜਨਵਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ।
Answer: – I was there till January.
3.ਮੈਂ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਏਥੇ ਹਾਂ।
Answer: – I am here till Monday.
4.ਮੈਂ 2013 ਤੱਕ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
Answer: – I lived in Delhi till 2013.
5.ਉਹ ਪੰਜ ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ।
Answer: – He was at home till 5.
6.ਉਸਨੇ 3 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਟੀ.ਵੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ।
Answer: – He Watched T.V till 3 P.M.
7.ਮੈਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਲੈਂਦਾ।
Answer: – I will not marry until I buy a house.
8.ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਫੋਨ Silent ਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੱਕ।
Answer: – I keep my phone silent until I reach home.
9.ਮੈਂ ਕੰਮ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
Answer: – I cannot go to work until I get well.
10.ਇੱਥੇ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰੋ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਤੱਕ।
Answer: – Wait here until the Doctor calls you.
Important information about Until
ਜਦੋਂ ਇੱਕ SENTENCE ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਵਾਕ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਕਤ ਤੱਕ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਓਦੋਂ ਅਸੀ PREPOSITION/CONJUNCTION UNTIL ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ:- ਮੈਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਲੈਂਦਾ।
Answer:- I will not marry until I buy a house.
ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਵਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੜੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਖੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੂਸਰੀ ਲਾਈਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ English Sentence ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵੇਲੇ not ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਕ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ English ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ not ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ।
Until
Until is a preposition and a conjunction. Until is often shortened to till or ’til. Till and ’til are more informal and we don’t usually use them in formal writing.
Until as a preposition Till meaning in English with example
Until as a preposition means ‘up to (the time that)’:
We played chess until midnight. (Up to midnight)
The film didn’t end till eleven o’clock.
We use from with until or till to talk about when something begins and when it ends:
I worked out at the gym from 6 pm till 7.30 pm.
The road outside our house will be closed from 6 am until 6 pm tomorrow.
We use by, not until, to talk about something that will happen before a particular time or deadline:
The movie will be finished by 9 pm.
Not: The movie will be finished until/till 9 pm.
We don’t use until or till to talk about quantity or numbers. We use up to:
The taxi can take up to five people.
Not: The taxi can take until five people.
We don’t use until or till to talk about distance. We use as far as:
Larry drove me as far as the shop and I walked the rest of the way home.
Not: Larry drove me until the shop.
Until as a conjunction
We use until as a subordinating conjunction to connect an action or an event to a point in time:
Let’s wait here till the rain stops. (Till + subordinate clause)
NOTE: – We don’t normally put the until-clause before the main clause:
No one left the room until the talk ended.
Not: Until the talk ended no one left the room

We don’t use until to talk about things that will happen before a particular time or deadline; we use by:

We don’t use until or till to talk about quantity; we use up to:
The theatre can hold up to two hundred people.
Not: The theatre can hold until two hundred people.

Not: We had to drive until Liverpool.
Take care to spell until with only one l at the end: not ‘untill’.
